Yes, that's correct about WCHU, however if a full power station wants to be on a frequency that's occupied by a low power broadcaster, the low power station has to move so WCHU will have to go somewhere else. Where they will be able to go is a different story since most UHF frequencies are already occupied. The other question, what's the point of WLS broadcasting on both 44 and 7 after this takes place?
: Channel 44 is already occupied by low-power digital WCHU-LD Rochelle, Illinois/Chicago, which went on the air a couple of weeks ago transmitting from John Hancock Center.
: The channel displays on Channel 61-1 and 61-2, but the actual channel is 44.
: 61-1 airs Spanish-language network 'Azteca America'. 61-2 is a simulcast of sister-station analog Channel 6 WLFM-LP, which has video with pictures of downtown Chicago scenery and L tracks, and audio of Smooth Jazz music.
: For some unknown reason, several converter boxes can receive a picture but no audio on 61-1 and 61-2. While other boxes do not have any problem with the audio.
