Wouldn't surprise me to have a "Play the accident on the freeway one" slip out over the air. One less traffic reporter to pay. : : Most of us know that many radio stations are using weather forecasters who let it be inferred that they are local, but, in fact are broadcasting from other cities. Occasionally revealed as they offer a prediction of a sunny day, while it has been raining the last half hour. But, traffic reporters? : : While spending the last month in St. Louis and listening to KMOX, I would hear: : : ‘Traffic with Bonnie Green’. I thought: Interesting a traffic reporter using : : the same name as Bonnie Green, morning traffic reporter on ‘The Score’. : : The, the first time that I listened in, I thought: That sounds just like Bonnie Green : : from Chicago. Then, after a few seconds, recognizing her distinctive voice: : : HEY!, That IS Bonnie Greene! Guiding us through the roadways, sounding : : as if she had been navigating St. Louis thoroughfares all of her life. : : So where is Bonnie Green? Is she in Chicago? Is she in St. Louis? Is she in Seattle? : : Is anyone else aware of this practice? How pervasive is it?
