Newspaper reporter indicted in theft

The Post-Tribune of Northwest Indiana reports: A Post-Tribune reporter has been indicted on charges that she embezzled more than $18,000 during the time she served as treasurer for the Gary Newspaper Guild, a union that represents the newspaper's newsroom.

Karen Snelling, 50, of Chicago, faces one charge of embezzlement.
