Let's face it. WIND has barely made a dent the last few years in talk radio. Regardless of how you may or may not like them, the morning duo of John Howell and Cisco Cotto is as good as it's going to get, ratings wise.

Dennis Miller, from 9 a.m. to noon means nothing. I'm sure the idea was he is a known guy and would garner some attention. I don't think he has. Him talking politics is nothing that exciting anyways, so I don't find his show to be all that great.

Gallagher, who I do think is really good, is tape delayed. Bad idea for talk radio during the day. Michael Medved is a snooze, and Michael Savage's extreme personality was signed on since they thought he would get attention. People, instead think he is a nut.

I'm not a programmer, and some of you after reading this will reply with a "thank goodness that I am not a programmer." But, I honestly believe that WIND might put themselves in a better position to compete against WLS, or at the very least, increase ratings with my proposed lineup.

Bring back Bill Bennett live for the mornings, 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. He is live and he is authoritative. I think he makes a better Don and Roma alternative than Cisco and Cotto. Cisco and Cotto, while both likeable really annoy me with their constant petty banter. Bennett, just may have a better grasp with people. Bennett was the morning guy prior to Cisco and Cotto, but that was back when the rest of the station's lineup was bland.

Get rid of Miller and replace him with Glenn Beck, starting at 8 a.m. (when his radio show syndicates live). Beck is almost nuts like Savage, but his popularity is rising super fast as of late, especially with his presence on Fox. I think Beck might be able to draw some people to the radio station. His show is either three or four hours, so he would go to either 11 or 12.

Whether from 11 a.m. or 12 p.m., make this show a local show until 2 p.m. Find a Chicagoan conservative voice and let them rip.

From 2 to 5 p.m., get Jerry Agar from WGN and give him afternoons and he competes against Roe. Conservative listeners have their serious discussion without the hit and miss comedy of a Conn or Cochran.

5 to 8 p.m. is Hugh Hewit live, which many conservatives really seem to like. Then from 8 to maybe 10 or 11 p.m., bite the bullet and hire Wendy Snyder and Bill Leff and give them evenings.

In order to make money, you gotta be willing to spend a little money. Bill, Wendy and Agar probably would not be that expensive anyways.
