I am not saying I know first hand from talking to JB or Marv or anyone, but I know some facts.

Fact #1 Emmis struggled to pay JB and/or justify paying JB

Fact #2 PPMs are typically "undocked" for the day at roughly 7am.

If you're going to pay JB less, he should work less. Additionally, if the working less means he doesn't start live until 7am Emmis still wins. JB does a little less live radio, and gets a little more sleep. Shorter shows will be the wave of the future in PPM. Morning drive essentially starts at 7am in PPM.

Radio is going to change more in the next 18 months than it has in the past 18 years.
