Kevin Manno Returns to the Chicago and NWI Airwaves on Vocalo.org

Submitted by slp on Mon, 09/28/2009 - 6:28pm

With the recent departure of host producer Bibiana Adames aka The Doctrix on a ten-week maternity leave, Vocalo.org was looking to fill the void. Enter Kevin Manno.

In Kevin's seven years of commercial radio experience at Emmis Communications' Q101 (WKQX-FM), he was an on-air personality for four years, two of which were opposite his brother, Ryan.

"What attracted me to Vocalo was that it's different. We allow the community to talk. It's cool giving the mic to everyone else. It's as if I'm co-hosting three hours with the listeners," says Kevin.

Continues Kevin, "I enjoy the freedom the most so far. I pick the topics and the music and just run with it. They let me do that, and that's new to me." Vocalo.org hosts curate their daily broadcasts using audio uploaded to the website from across the region. Their broadcast library includes everything from opinions on daily news left on the Vocalo Hotline to more developed pieces from budding radio producers.

Kevin is a native to the Lake Michigan Region. He grew up in Highland, Indiana, and attended college in Naperville, Illinois, at North Central College.

Through November, Kevin will be on the air on weekdays from 1 to 4 p.m. on 89.5 FM in the Lake Michigan Region (Chicago, Northwest Indiana, and Southwest Michigan) or at www.vocalo.org/stream.
