Camille Edwards, who's been news director at WMAQ-Channel 5 since 2003, has been named vice president of news at WRC-TV in Washington, D.C. Both stations are owned by NBC.

Edwards previously was an executive producer at ABC-owned WLS-Channel 7 and a producer at CBS-owned WBBM-Channel 2.

At WRC, she'll again succeed her predecessor at Channel 5, Vickie Burns, who became vice president of news and content at WNBC-TV in New York.

Frank Whittaker, station manager and vice president of news at Channel 5, said he will hire a replacement for Edwards.
