DirecTV customers miss Chicago Blackhawks' record comeback

Satellite provider still at odds with Comcast-owned network Versus

The Blackhawks recorded their largest comeback in franchise history and tied the NHL mark when they rallied from a five-goal, first-period deficit to defeat the Calgary Flames 6-5 in overtime Monday night at the United Center.

It was one of the most thrilling games in recent memory.

And if you have DirecTV, you didn't see it.

A dispute between Versus, the network broadcasting Monday's game, and the satellite provider has resulted in millions of subscribers across the nation not being able to view NHL games and other programming on the 3-year-old channel.

The sides negotiated before the start of the NHL season but couldn't come to a financial agreement.

DirecTV, owned by Liberty Media, dropped the Comcast-owned network from its programming Sept. 1, and there is no end in sight to the dispute, despite NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman reportedly attempting to mediate an agreement between the sides.
