I never cared for the WLS surveys after 1975. They listed 45 songs but didn't actually play all 45 of them on WLS. Weird.


: It's hard to believe, but 49 years ago today, the Silver Dollar Survey debuted from WLS Radio. Oct. 14, 1960 was the date of the first week of the survey. The station had changed from the Prairie Farmer to rock & roll on May 2, 1960. The surveys would be printed for a total of 29 years in many different formats until the last one appeared on May 5, 1990 (By then, the station was Z-95, WYTZ-FM). The surveys now are highly collectible.
