Fowler is just upset his ratings tanked. With people interested in the election and politics and viewpoints, they tuned to WLS. Now that the effect has worn off, some listeners may have moved over to WGN, and some may have moved to WGN because they like Greg Jarrett better than they did John Williams.

The old people don't turn the dial trick doesn't apply either. Every day of my life driving, move my hand over and BOOM! the station changes. If people can text, talk, and more while driving they aren't going to be lazy enough not to change the radio station. That's a completely ludicrous idea and it shows that radio management is still in the dark ages when it comes to common sense.
