Bears-Falcons bigger TV draw in L.A. than Dodgers-Phillies playoff game

How big a TV draw was the Bears' 24-17 loss to the Falcons?

NBC's "Sunday Night Football" telecast was the night's No. 1 show in the overnight ratings of metered markets with a 12.0 rating and 19 percent share of households watching television. Leading the way was the Chicago market, where the game attracted 33.9 percent of all TV households and a 50-percent share on NBC-owned WMAQ-Ch. 5.

Most impressive, perhaps, is not that the Bears football broadcast more than tripled the overnight ratings for the TBS cable telecast Game 3 National League Championship Series telecast. It's that the Bears-Falcons game beat the Dodgers-Phillies in the Los Angeles market by 15 percent.

Complete viewership numbers won't be available until Tuesday, when national ratings are released.
