What next for North?

Mike North kept telling me of "other opportunities" and "feeling good about the future" after it was revealed that his "Monsters in the Morning" show will end its run on Comcast SportsNet on Dec. 31.
I kept pressing Mr. North. "Tell me about those other opportunities," I asked.
"I'm not going to tell you about other opportunities," said Mr. North, his voice rising a bit. "I'm excited about the future. I'm excited about a number of things."
I tell him I'm having trouble seeing it. I tell him I can't imagine that he ever will have a better outlet for "Monsters" than at CSN.
"There's opportunities to explore," Mr. North said. "With the brand we have and the TV show we have, I believe there will be good things out there for us."
OK, if you're last show is Dec. 31, where will you be Jan. 1?
"I'll be in bed watching football games," he said.
OK. What about Jan. 10?
He just laughed and said, "Do I sound down to you?"
No, but he never sounds down. Even when things were at their worst during the David Hernandez fiasco, he wasn't down.
Mr. North knows I'm skeptical. He has shown a knack for reinventing himself, but you only get so many chances in this life.
I try one more time. "What's next?"
"I've got a lot of things to do before I'm done," Mr. North said. "I think I have the track record when I tell you I'm going to do something, I do it. I'd keep riding this horse. I think the 'Monsters' brand is here to stay."
At the end of our conversation, he said, "Stay tuned."
Always for Mr. North.
