The Blackhawks have picked up where they left off on the television front.
The Hawks did a strong 1.6 rating on Comcast SportsNet in October; 1 local ratings point is worth more than 35,000 homes. That's up 60 percent from last October and 300 percent from Oct,, 2007, when the Hawks were mostly invisible.
The Hawks-Vancouver game on Oct. 14 did a 2.7 rating (approximately 56,000 homes), the largest ever for a regular-season game on Comcast SportsNet.
Keep in mind, the season is just warming up. If the Hawks continue to play well, the ratings should go much higher.
Favre scores: Apparently, America can't get enough of Brett Favre. Sunday's Vikings-Packers game did an 18.3 rating on Fox; 1 national ratings point is worth more than 1 million homes. That was the NFL's highest rating for a regular-season since Colts-Patriots in 2007.
The game did an 18.5 rating in Chicago. Meanwhile, the Bears-Browns game did a 26.9 rating on WBBM-Ch. 2. Not bad for what basically was a glorified scrimmage.
