Having been born one color or another does not have any effect on whether one will eventually be a good reporter or not.

We do society a disservice when we start hiring people based on where they were born or where they live or what they look like.

WTTW didn't become known as Winettka Talks To Wilmette because they don't have black people on their station. It became known as that because some racists decided that black folks don't care about the particular slice of culture that WTTW covers.
