Ann & Maria Ponce are members of the talented Ponce family that is well known to fans of Chicago media. Phil Ponce is the longtime Chicago TV journalist and current host of WTTW's "Chicago Tonight." Phil's son, Anthony Ponce is a reporter for NBC5 and his other son Dan Ponce is a former reporter for ABC7 and is now a full-time member of the a cappella group Straight No Chaser. Ann Ponce is Phil's wife and mother to Anthony, Dan & Maria. That, of course, makes Maria Ponce Phil's daughter. Now Ann & Maria Ponce will be putting their artistic talents on display. The mother & daughter will be collaborating for ON TV/OFF TV, a public display of their art. Ann Ponce who uses a canvas and paintbrush to express herself, while Maria Ponce uses a camera as her paintbrush. The two artists use local television anchors, reporters, and journalists as their subjects. Among their subjects on display in the exhibition will be Linda Yu, Mark Suppelsa, Warner Saunders, Alison Rosati, Anna Davlantes and Kathy Brock. ON TV/OFF TV will be at the Packer Schopf Gallery (942 Lake St., Chicago) starting on November 20th and running through December 23rd. On Thursday, November 19th, there will be a special ON TV/OFF TV Preview Party at the Packer Schopf Gallery. It will be a fundraising event for the National Academy of Televison Arts & Sciences' (NATAS) Chicago Foundation. It will take place from 6:00pm-8:00pm. $20 Suggested Donation.
