Thank you, Jeremy, for the heads up. And thank you, Farid - for nothing.
I cannot understand that if the baby boomers have all of the money, then why isn't the media catering to them with advertising? And content?
Arbitron - with the people meter or with the diary is screwed up and not a true representation of how things are.
About seven years ago, my wife answered the phone for a survey and lo and behold, we receiced an Arbitron diary. Now since we owned Viacom/CBS/Infinity stock, I made sure that I gave Stern credit Mon-Fri on 'CKG, weekends were 'XRT listening, afternoon drive got chalked up to 'BBM-AM. And I did it just to prove a point - what BS the measurement system was/is.
My personal listening habits were Stern, WNUA, Rock and Roll Roots with Stroud, WCGO and Roe Conn at the time.
How accurate was that?
The sample was wrong. What ever happened to the system that could monitor car radios from antennas/receivers mounted on billboards along an expressway? Similar to the people meter, but unbiased?
