101.5s, 97.5s and all that
There's a CP in Milwaukee for a 99 watt 102.5 in the same city as a 102.1 and a 102.9
: S. 592 is the Local Community Radio Act, and it would allow the FCC to issue hundreds of new Low Power FM licenses, even in larger markets where that’s not possible now because of the interference rules. The bill would relax those rules by removing the third-adjacent protection for full-power FMs. All five members of the current FCC have told Congress they're in favor of the change, and now the bill sponsored by Senators Maria Cantwell (D-WA) and John McCain (R-AZ) moves to the full Senate. The grassroots Free Press group says “today’s vote brings us one step closer to a new golden era of radio.” On the other side, the NAB is re-doubing its lobbying efforts to keep the bill from coming up for a vote.
: What does this mean for Chicago radio?
