Chicago Sun-Times today printed a schedule of Holiday specials for Chicagoland TV:
Carols in the air: What to watch this season
November 26, 2009
BY DAREL JEVENS Staff Reporter
Viewers of a certain age remember when December was flush with TV Christmas specials starring Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Johnny Cash, Andy Williams and the like. While those days are gone forever, the variety extravaganzas are making a little comeback this season, and they come not from American icons, but from “American Idol.”
Carrie Underwood gets things started Dec. 7 with a Fox special co-starring another “Idol” winner, David Cook. Jennifer Hudson follows a week later with her own set of songs, shot in Chicago.
