He's back: Wills a one-game wonder for UIC

When it comes to broadcasting basketball, Dave Wills is game.

How game? One game.

The former radio play-by-play voice of the Illinois-Chicago basketball team will be behind the microphone for UIC's game Thursday at 7 p.m. at Milwaukee on ESPN Radio 1000.

Wills called UIC basketball from 1997-2005. He has been the radio announcer for the Tampa Bay Rays for the last five seasons.

"I'm looking forward to going back to the place where it all began," he said. "One of the highlights of my career occurred when the Flames beat Milwaukee up there to advance to the NCAA tournament in 2004.

"Baseball is my first love, but college basketball is very, very close behind, and I am looking forward to Thursday night."
