Crain's Shia Kapos had this story on the Crain's website this morning. It has a little more info and a less snarky attitude than the NBC5 website piece:
"Columnist Richard Roeper named in foreclosure case

Chicago Sun-Times columnist Richard Roeper is named in a foreclosure case filed by U.S. Bank in the Circuit Court of Cook County.
The bank filed the case Nov. 17, alleging the movie critic missed payments on the $1.5-million mortgage on his Near North Side condominium. His attorney, Todd Musburger, says Mr. Roeper has since made the payments and is current on the mortgage, which has a balance of $1.45 million.
Mr. Musburger says Mr. Roeper missed the payments because money he was owed by others came in late.
"The mortgage payments are connected to two deals that were late. When the money came in, the mortgage payments were made," Mr. Musburger said Friday.
Mr. Roeper still lives in the condo but has listed it to sell.
Neither he nor the mortgage holder would comment.
Mr. Roeper, who has long written a general-interest column for the Sun-Times, moonlighted in radio and then TV before reviewing films with Roger Ebert on the nationally syndicated "At the Movies" television show.
In 2008, both critics left the show, which reportedly had paid Mr. Roeper more than $600,000 a year.
Last month, Mr. Roeper debuted a new Web site, RichardRoeper.com; the movie reviews he'll post there will be picked up by Starz and shown in some 18 million homes, for a six-figure base salary, according to media blogger Robert Feder.
Mr. Roeper is also the author of eight books."
