CBS just recently hired Carson Daly for mornings on its new Los Angeles CHR, “Amp 97.1” KAMP-FM, and today it’s announcing that former People Magazine “Sexiest Man Alive” contender Nick Cannon will do mornings on “Now” WXRK in the Big Apple. Among Cannon’s many professional credits – movie roles in “Drumline”, “Garfield: The Movie”, “Shall We Dance”, and “Underclassman”, which CBS says he also executive-produced. Cannon’s been featured in several roles on TV, including at Nickelodeon (“All That”) and MTV (“Nick Cannon Presents Wild N Out”). As a musician, he’s performed with Kanye West, Mary J. Blige and others, including on his own 2003 album. Cannon takes over the radio morning show on January 19. CBS describes it as “a mix of the most popular music, celebrity interviews, and pop culture and lifestyle discussions.”
