Former Cubs broadcaster Chip Caray is headed back to the Atlanta Braves broadcasting booth. Caray said today he was hired to be the team's play-by-play man on Fox Sports South and SportsSouth and he is expected to work about 105 games next season. The hire came three weeks after parting ways with Turner Sports.

Caray, 44, is the son of late Braves broadcaster Skip Caray and a grandson of famed broadcaster Harry Caray. He called first-round playoff games for TBS during the past three seasons and came under fire for several incorrect calls. Caray will replace Jon Sciambi, who left after the 2009 season for ESPN.

"I couldn't imagine a better situation," Caray said.
