Chicago Independent Radio Project goes live

Two and a half years after it first formed, the Chicago Independent Radio Project, or CHIRP as it is more commonly known, will launch its new radio station on 1/17 at Noon. The station is not allowed to be on a low-powered FM signal just yet, so it will launch online at CHIRPradio.org. The night before, January 16th, CHIRP will throw its big launch party at the Empty Bottle (1035 N. Western Ave., Chicago). A handful of local bands, including the Yolks, Hollows, and Rabble Rabble, will help kick the station off. Tickets are only $8.00 and proceeds benefit the non-profit CHIRP organization.
