HHH,

FM talk has worked in a few markets but I really don;t think it would work here in Chicago. I don;t care if we are talking sports or news or "man stuff", it would have a limited audience.

If you add the White Sox you would have some cume during baseball season. The White Sox would only do this if they really could increase the rights fees. To lose a 50k clear with good ratings would be stupid UNLESS you can bring in a bunch more dollars and, at the same time, increase your radio net to pick up some of what you lost leaving WSCR.

If you were able to bring in a Rush you could anchor a news/talk station around him ... but I don't think any other national talker could work as a cume magnet.

If you brought in a bunch of younger fresh talent it would take a while to build and jell an audience, time a Chicago FM station owned by a major group owner would not want to wait.

One of the problems is we have too few owners of radio signals in Chicago ... so you have stations programmed not to win an audience, but to protect and defend other owned station's audience.

I just don;t seesports talk or men talk on FM gaining any kind of audience nor do I think it would happen ...
