I just looked up that month and see the same thing. Since there are no stations in the US that begin with X (they all begin with W or K - or C if they bleed into the US from Canada), it has to be a mistake. I'm guessing somebody at Arbitron meant to put in the correct call letters later, but forgot.
I'm sure it is WLFM-LP. That month, there were only three Country formated stations in the Chicago market: WUSN, WCCQ and WLFM, which was an alt-country format before taking the Smooth Jazz format a few weeks later following WNUA's flip. The station coming in at 55th place sounds about right for that time, too. It was a non-factor of a station back then before the flip & the publicity it generated.
: Does anyone have any idea what XXFM-FM is? I know this sounds weird, but those call letters show up in the PPM Analysis Tool and Tapscan for the April 2009 survey with a 12+ cume of 41,800 M-Su 6a-12m.....WLFM?
