Four-decade Chicago radio veteran Richard Steele officially takes over Monday as host of "Eight Forty-Eight," the weekday newsmagazine on Chicago Public Radio WBEZ-FM (91.5).
He succeeds Steve Edwards, who has been appointed acting program director at WBEZ.
"Talking to people about everything that matters in our region is a pretty exciting challenge," Steele said. "My goal as host for 'Eight Forty-Eight' is to make every interview a great conversation and to initiate dialogue with our listeners."
"Eight Forty-Eight" airs from 9 to 10 a.m. (and repeats from 8 to 9 p.m.) Alison Cuddy continues to host the show on Fridays.
