i feel you on the analyzation and think you're spot-on. but this specific change could be a little different and unrelated. it wasn't widely published, but rick gillette got pretty sick about a year ago and had to take some time off for recovery. his family was on the west coast throughout. i don't know for sure but he could possibly have experienced remission and wants to tackle this time with his family by his side.
