Clear Channel's Total Traffic Network (CCTTN) delivers real-time traffic data over RDS-TMC (Radio Data System - Traffic Message Channel) to 15 additional markets. CCTTN now serves 95 North American markets with total population coverage of 200 million people. The network's existing 500,000 subscribers won't be charged extra for the expanded coverage.
The recently added markets include Binghamton, N.Y.; Charleston, S.C.; El Paso; Grand Rapids; Honolulu; Melbourne; Mobile; Modesto, Calif.; Oklahoma City; Panama City, Fla.; Pensacola, Fla.; Spokane; Stockton; Tallahassee, Fla.; and Tuscaloosa, Ala.
"Our real-time traffic service has seen an explosion in momentum this year with paid subscribers to the service reaching a milestone of 500,000, providing traffic info to Volvo models, Mio Technology expanding their relationship with us, ASUS arming their first PND with our data -- and now our expansion into 15 more markets," said Jeff Littlejohn, executive VP of distribution development for Clear Channel Radio. "It's rewarding to know that people living in or driving through these newly added markets will be able to experience our service and enjoy a more predictable ride."
Over the past year, CCTTN has made a multi-year agreement with Volvo, expanded its relationship with Mio Technologies and reached a milestone of 500,000 subscribers as of July 2008.
