As part of its on-the-scene coverage of the DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION, AIR AMERICA RADIO is holding a special live event in DENVER, "Authors Turning the Page: Ideas on Election 2008," a series of three panels hosted by the network's RACHEL MADDOW. The panels, held next MONDAY 3-6p MT, will include "Biography on Democracy," with MARK GREEN moderating and former JOHN F. KENNEDY advisor TED SORENSEN and NEWSWEEK's JONATHAN ALTER on the panel; "The Contest: Progressives vs. Conservatives," with THOM HARTMANN hosting PAUL KRUGMAN, ARIANNA HUFFINGTON, JOHN PODESTA, and DAVID SIROTA; and "The Next America," hosted by PRINCETON's ANNE-MARIE SLAUGHTER and featuring DAILY KOS founder MARKOS MOULITSAS, VAN JONES, and JANE MAYER.
The panels, co-produced by the PROGRESSIVE BOOK CLUB, will be webcast on the network's website and highlights will air on the network.
In addition, HARTMANN will debate SALEM syndicated host DENNIS PRAGER that same day 1-3p MT, webcast at the STARZ GREEN ROOM website. And on TUESDAY, the network's SVP of Programming BILL HESS will moderate a panel, "AIR AMERICA: Insights from the Inside of Progressive Talk Radio," with a panel of network insiders including DAVID BENDER, RICHARD GREENE, and MIKE PAPANTONIO.
