CBS News Radio announces plans to simulcast the primetime television special, “Stand Up To Cancer” (SU2C), which is being shown on all three major television networks on Friday, September 5 at 8:00 p.m. ET. CBS Radio News affiliates will be able to carry the live, commercial-free, one-hour program hosted by Katie Couric, Charles Gibson and Brian Williams devoted to funding cancer research.
“CBS Radio News is honored to simulcast this significant event. Radio has always been a medium that gives back to the community and we hope that by airing this program we’ll help to play a role in the continuing effort to fight cancer,” said Harvey Nagler, vice president of CBS Radio News.
A number of celebrities will participate in the broadcast, including Elizabeth Edwards, Jennifer Aniston, Lance Armstrong, Jon Favreau, Danica Patrick, Homer and Marge Simpson, and many more.
