Emmis Layoffs Blow Through Chicago
The dreaded layoffs hit EMMIS Alternative WKQX (Q101.1) and Classic Rock WLUP (97.9 THE LOOP)/CHICAGO this AFTERNOON (10/30). The list includes: WLUP PD PD BILL KLAPROTH (847-347-1979 or bklaproth@rocketmail.com); WLUP Creative Servives Dir. KEVYN HOWARD (312-493-3102 or khoward979@yahoo.com); WKQX & WLUP Marketing Dir. TOMMY KING; WKQX & WLUP Sales Asst. CARLY KEENAN; and Web Content Mgr. JESSE GOODMAN.
Following the cutbacks, WLUP afternooner EDDIE WEBB added PD duties, JEANNINE MOOSE was named Promotions Dir. at WLUP, JIMI HENDRIX assumes Promotions Dir. duties for WKQX, and NED SPINDLE takes on WLUP and WKQX imaging.
