Budget Axe Swings Through Emmis/Chicago

Budgets cuts blew through Emmis/Chicago on Thursday (Oct. 30) and took out staffers from both classic rock WLUP (the Loop) and alternative WKQX (Q101.1).

At WLUP, PD Bill Klaproth (a 10-year station vet) and imaging director Kevyn Howard exit, as do sales assistant Carly Keenan and Web programmer Jessie Goodman, who worked for both stations.

Also exiting the cluster is marketing director Tommy King, another 10-year vet.

Promoted to PD at the Loop -- and remaining afternoon host -- is Eddie Webb. Q101.1 imaging director Ned Spindle adds similar duties at the Loop.

Also moving up, promotions managers Jeannine Moose (Q101.1) and Jimi Hendrix (WLUP) become promotion directors, reporting to Emmis/Chicago director of brand and operations Tisa LaSorte.
