Chicago radio Election Night plans
Just like local TV stations, local radio stations are gearing up for Election Night. Most plan supplemental coverage at their Web sites, as well. Here's the information we have so far.
WBBM-AM 780: The all-news station will begins its live, continuous election coverage at 7 p.m. Kris Kridel and political analyst Bob Crawford will be the in-studio anchors.Reports from CBS News will air at the top of the hour,:20 after, :31 after, and :50 after each hour. Plus, the station will continue to have traffic reports on the 8's for those trying to get out of downtown late.
WLS-AM 890: Jerry Agar will anchor election night coverage, joined by political editor Bill Cameron, former anchorman Walter Jacobson and others. National coverage will come from ABC News.
WGN-AM 720: Election-night coverage is set to begin at 7 p.m. with WGN News Director Wes Bleed and political analyst Paul Green anchoring coverage, which will include updates from ABC News. Chicago Tribune parent Tribune Co. owns WGN-AM.
WBEZ-FM 91.5, WBEQ-FM 90.7 and and WIUM-FM 91.3: Chicago Public Radio will begin NPR's live coverage at 7 p.m. Gabriel Spitzer, Melba Lara and political analyst Alan Gittelson will lead local on-air coverage. The plan is to stay with NPR until 2 a.m., when it will run the BBC World Service til 5 a.m., as usual. A special three-hour edition of "Eight Forty-Eight's is set for 9 a.m. Wednesday.
WVON-AM 1690: Bob Starks and Paul Lisnek will host post-election analysis with guests from coast-to-coast.
WNUA-FM 95.5, WLIT-FM 93.9, WGCI-FM 107.5, WVAZ-FM 102.7, WGRB-AM 1390: These Clear Channel stations plan to have hourly election updates.
