ABC7 talks to Steve Harvey

April 30, 2009 (CHICAGO) (WLS) -- Steve Harvey is doing his syndicated radio show from Chicago this week - the first time since his program was moved to V103.
He's out in public signing copies of his best selling book.
Steve Harvey is probably best known for radio, television, film and the kings of comedy tour. But now he is enjoying a new career as best selling author.
ABC7 sat down with the radio personality and talked about everything from his career journey to the recent replacement of friend and fellow disc jockey Tom Joyner.
As comedian, radio host and now best selling author, Steve Harvey greets his fans.
They line up for hours to get an autograph from the man who writes about women in his book, "Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man."
In the book he talks about everything from how soon women should have sex to how to spot a keeper, but he says this is the best advice.
"Women have to get rid of the notion that in order to have a man you have to lower their standards so they can attract a man. You should never do that most dangerous mistake," said Harvey.
ABC7 caught up with the Harvey following Thursday morning's radio show.
It was his first live Chicago broadcast since he replaced long time DJ Tom Joyner and he wanted to respond to the backlash.
"When they moved him it was the result of a business decision made years ago," said Harvey.
Harvey got his start on radio in Chicago in the early 1990's and he credits this city for much off his success.
"I have had this love affair with Chicago for a long time," said Harvey.
The book has been translated into ten languages and Harvey says look for part two in the future. Harvey also says he is fielding calls about a possible movie adaptation of the book.
