You might see him on the replay of "Monsters in the Morning" later tonight at 11p on Comcast SportsNet, but Mike North has been fired by ChicagoSportsWebio.com, according to ChicagoBusiness.com's Ed Sherman. Mike, wife Bebe and Jeff Schwartz, one of the founding fathers of the Internet sports talk radio station were fired late this afternoon after some 30 employee checks bounced this week. David Hernandez, the CEO of Spectrum Entertainment, fired North after he questioned Webio's finances. He could not be reached for comment, but Hernandez told Crain's Monday that the new station was making a profit. North said that as many as 12 checks started to bounce 2 weeks ago and Hernandez wasn't forthcoming in regards to why they started to bounce. The Internet sports talk station recently expanded to 12 hours a day last month, featuring the likes of Chet Coppock, Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini, Jonathan Hood, Tim Doyle, Matt Weber, Fred Huebner, along with North & Dan Jiggetts launching the Internet sports talker earlier this year with "Monsters in the Morning" live on CSN weekdays 6-9a as well as online.
