There is some merit to this, for instance where I work we have people in the building 24/7. If there's severe weather, our own staff will handle the information, thank you. For other stations, you're required to set the unit to auto forward if you're unattended, but again unless you're a primary you don't have to forward anything less than the required.
BTW, the primary stations in Chicago are WGN and WBBM-AM.
: We all know the Emergency Alert System that they test about 7 times a day on each station. When exactly do they use it? It seems to me that today's tornado warnings should have merited some kind of use of this, instead of a little "weather in the area" mention between two traffic reports and a commercial. Anyone know what the policy is?
