These ratings are just proof PPM is grossly flawed. Look at The Loop's numbers. They dropped .6 points. Some how the news was so interesting this last month, WBBM jumped a whole point. WLS-FM lost a full point. We aren't talking just a few listeners, we are looking at about 4800 people a point. I understand it is suppose to measure exposure, but just because the PPM can hear it doesn't mean you are listening. The diary was a popularity contest and wasn't accurate either. There needs to be a device that can measure some who is choosing to listen to the station, versus someone who is just exposed to it. That could be as simple as making the device wait until the listening level is at a certain dB level, and remove some of the ridiculous criteria for the PPM to actually measure the listening pattern.
