Chicago Tribune Raising Its Price Again
Monday, 04 January 2010
The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that the Chicago Tribune is raising it's prices. It will now cost you a full buck to buy it on a newsstand during the week and two bucks on Sunday, starting in two weeks. The Sun-Times is also stating that they will not be increasing their own price at this time. In addition to the Sun-Times' website article on this Tribune increase, the Tribune's Phil Rosenthal is also now mentioning it on his Tower Ticker blog. I can understand that paper & printing costs have steadily risen and that they need this increase to help offset those costs, plus a $1 for all that information inside is still a somewhat decent value. However, how soon before they price themselves so high, it ends up losing readers, causing an opposite & disastrous effect on the paper?
