Tips for getting into radio

I hope this isn't the wrong website, but I was curious about how radio broadcasts are done. I'm a big sports fan and would love to work someday on a big league broadcast. I've looked into interning and getting started that way. Out of curiosity, how are radio sporting events done? Does anybody know how the behind the scenes production of a Bulls, Bears, Sox, Cubs or Blackhawks game is done? I'm fascinated with the inner workings at radio stations.
